Our Treasonous New York Times

Loading

With stunning arrogance the New York Times shows the world why they should be thought of as nothing but a leftist propaganda paper.  Take a look at this photo, found by LGF, that shows a Sadr soldier attacking US troops:

And then check out the caption:

A sniper loyal to Shiite cleric Moqtada al Sadr fires towards U.S. positions in the cemetery in Najaf, Iraq.

Michele McNally: “Right there with the Mahdi army. Incredible courage.”

At least they are consistent with siding with our enemies.  Support our own kids as they fight for and die for our Country, hell no.  We are evil, they deserve to die.  While we're at it we will take a picture of our enemy killing one of our kids and then call him courageous.

Disgusting.

The picture was taken by Joao Silva who also took this picture back in 2004:

With the caption:

A militiaman loyal to radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr fired on U.S. positions yesterday in Najaf, Iraq, as talks between al-Sadr and the Iraqi interim government dragged on.

Michele McNally:

Remember this picture:

Here is what Michele thought of that one:

Iraqis chanted anti-American slogans in Falluja yesterday as burned bodies of Americans were suspended on a bridge over the Euphrates River.

Michele McNally: "Time will tell, but this one is iconic enough to join the ranks of Eddie Adams, Joe Rosenthal and Nick Ut…"

The NYT's and our MSM is just another front on our War against Terror, from inside the country.

I know you don't need anymore proof of this since everyday the NYT's displays their hatred of our troops and our Country but take a look at this editorial today in the paper:

It is only now, nearly five years after Sept. 11, that the full picture of the Bush administration's response to the terror attacks is becoming clear. Much of it, we can see now, had far less to do with fighting Osama bin Laden than with expanding presidential power.

For one thing you can see the obsession they have with one man, Osama.  When he is dead Al-Qaeda will still be around, we are fighting the terrorists, not just one terrorist.

But the fact that they believe Bush cares little in fighting this war, only expanding the Presidents power is complete insanity.  As Blue Crab Boulevard states:

One could point out that what the NYT sees as "expanding presidential power" could just as easily be argued as "reclaiming powers improperly grabbed by Congress". But that argument would fall on deaf ears, for the gray lady is completely senile at this point.

Exactly!  The Presidents powers have slowly been stripped away by Congress for quite some time, Bush is reclaiming those powers…powers needed to fight this enemy.  That is his primary responsibility, protecting this Country.

Now take a look at this section of the editorial:

While no one questions the determination of the White House to fight terrorism

So which is it?  Is he only trying to expand his power or is trying to fight this war?

procedure for trying the hundreds of men who have spent years now locked up as suspected terrorists without any hope of due process.

"Due process"?  Terrorists are not American civilians, they were captured fighting our country, not following the rules of war as laid out by the Geneva convention, and will spend their days in those cells until the war is over.

Oh, btw, try dozens instead of hundreds…..sigh.

Over and over again, the same pattern emerges: Given a choice between following the rules or carving out some unprecedented executive power, the White House always shrugged off the legal constraints.

Unprecedented?  Geez, did these people even go to college?  Presidents from the birth of this country have used these powers to protect our country since that is their primary responsibility.  From the suspension of Habeas Corpus to the NSA wiretaps, these are powers needed by our Commander in Chief.

Over and over again, the same pattern emerges: Given a choice between following the rules or carving out some unprecedented executive power, the White House always shrugged off the legal constraints. Even when the only challenge was to get required approval from an ever-cooperative Congress, the president and his staff preferred to go it alone. While no one questions the determination of the White House to fight terrorism, the methods this administration has used to do it have been shaped by another, perverse determination: never to consult, never to ask and always to fight against any constraint on the executive branch.

One result has been a frayed democratic fabric in a country founded on a constitutional system of checks and balances. Another has been a less effective war on terror.

Perverse?  The only thing perverse is your organizations willful treason by leaking national security secrets used to fight this war.  Then you have the gall to say that Bush is fighting a "less effective war"…..amazing.

UPDATE

A reader sent me a email reminding me about this soldiers death :

Capt. Mark A. Liston remembers working closely to a Marine he described as outstanding and good man whose commitment to excellence was an inspiration to everyone.

"He was a man you could rely on," said Liston, 35, from Kent, R.I. "His ability to bring up morale during dull or challenging times helped us follow through some trying periods."

Lance Cpl. Nicolas J. Whyte was killed in action on June 21 while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in the Al Anbar Province. Whyte, a 21-year-old from Brooklyn, N.Y., was part of 3rd Platoon, Weapons Company.

[…]"The young man joined following 9/11," said Neary, 40, from Boston. "A man who could see the burning towers of the world trade center and still joined. A man such as this has substance, he has meaning."

[…]Whyte attended Marine Corps boot camp and graduated the Basic Infantryman and Mortarman Courses in 2004. He's deployed with 3rd Bn., 8th Marines to Haiti the same year and then to Fallujah, Iraq in 2005. This was his second tour to Iraq.

His awards include the Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

Why bring up LCpl Whyte?  Because he was killed by an enemy sniper:

NEW YORK – Marines escort the body of Lance Cpl. Nicholas J. Whyte of 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, after a memorial service. He was fatally wounded through the neck by an enemy sniper during combat in Ramadi, Iraq, just days before his 22nd birthday.
